Motion Detector

Motion Detector uses your device's camera to automatically identify movement and changes in your surroundings. Point your camera at the area you want to monitor, start the app, and it begins tracking motion in real time with on-screen visual feedback.

The app displays motion as colored rectangles and icons directly on your camera feed, so you see exactly where activity is happening. Motion history traces show the complete path of detected movement — useful for understanding whether motion is directed toward you or away. A customizable sensitivity threshold lets you control how responsive the detection is; lower values catch subtle shifts but may produce false positives, while higher values reduce noise from device vibration or camera shake.

Device shaking is a common source of false alarms in motion detection. This app includes a specialized anti-shake algorithm that distinguishes genuine motion from camera jitter. You can adjust shake sensitivity to High, Medium, Low, or disable it entirely depending on your monitoring environment.

Set alarms to trigger when motion intensity exceeds your chosen threshold and persists for a specified time period. Alarms can play sound, initiate phone calls (where supported), and display a visual alert on screen. The alarm duration is also customizable, so you control how long the alert remains active. Motion sound volume scales with the intensity of detected movement, giving you audio feedback proportional to what's happening.

Capture still images automatically whenever motion occurs or when an alarm triggers. Review these pictures later to verify what triggered the detection or keep a visual record of events. All settings can be adjusted on the fly during monitoring — tap the Motion Detector window to access live settings without stopping detection.

Fine-tune detection behavior through pixel threshold (intensity sensitivity), block size percentage (analysis resolution), and minimum area required to register motion. Choose between front and back cameras where your device supports both. Toggle motion rectangles and history visualization on or off based on your preference. On compatible devices, enable WiFi publishing to monitor motion detection activity across your network.

Motion Detector is straightforward to use: position your device, launch the app, wait for the countdown timer, and monitoring begins. The combination of visual overlays, audio feedback, and configurable thresholds makes it adaptable to home security, office surveillance, wildlife observation, or any scenario requiring automated motion sensing.
